Two compositions in my Solo Show: Nature Abstracted sold at the reception within the first half an hour. I was so pleased by getting the youtube videos online; as well as being exhausted from promoting the show this great news slipped my mind 🙂

For Nature Abstracted, her first Solo Exibition, Toronto artist Carolyn Scanlan uses a new approach to her

Quitting smoking has it’s rewards! On my 2nd anniversary of quitting I treated myself with my savings to a trip to B.C. Beautiful new experiences can be had without addictions 🙂

The first image is of Granville Island (great Arts community), the second is of Kitsilano beach, third is of Lion’s Gate Bridge that takes you into North and West Vancouver, and the last photo is of a tree in Stanley Park, Vancouver.

Around the Block distills a collection of still images of a typical urban neighborhood into an idiosyncratic video continuum. The accompanying soundscape is not so delimited. It provides tempting glimpses into the distance.

The work forms a dynamic stream of familiar spaces, revealing much about the texture and syntax of our urban existence while questioning the culture of privatization and disconnection.
