I, Carolyn Scanlan cling to an innovative perspective consistent with previous cultural ideals. My philosophy contrasts with our new age that holds fast to machinery, diminishing humanity’s depth.

Newly sprung onto the Artscape, my paintings resemble geometrics and splatters of paint fresh from long forgotten attitudes of the turn of the previous century, when artistic genius was inventively modern.

As a city girl, I still get lost in the dreams of the planes that fly over me. Allowing the words to creep behind my eyes, I manipulate surfaces to reflect mindscapes and ideals.

Realizing the immediacy of expressive words juxtaposed in my thoughts, I am effectively inspired to pursue personal significance through the creative experience of conceptual and primarily abstract painting.

I dream about the journeys of planes that fly over me too!

I love the name of your blog, and your work. Great stuff.

    • Thank you. Compliments and positive support really do lessen the struggle as an artist šŸ™‚
